The Embassy Club and The Des Moines Club, an unbeatable two clubs for the price of one, where members can enjoy the traditions and synergies of two clubs with a combined 150 years in Des Moines and over 1,900 members.
The two clubs merged management operations October 4, 2002 and since then The Des Moines Embassy Club members have enjoyed the benefits of two outstanding locations:
The Embassy Club, 801 Grand Avenue, on the 41st floor of the Principal Building, the tallest building in the State. Contemporary dining in the main dining room, with table side prepared signature salads, entrees, desserts and flambéed after dinner drinks and coffees. The Embassy Club also features less formal dining in the Grill and Lounge. Five private dining rooms and the Club's management offices are on the 40th floor.
The Des Moines Club, 666 Grand, on the 34th floor of the Ruan Building. Traditional dining in the Crystal Room replete with signature table settings and chandeliers galore. There is also less formal dining in the Metropolitan Grill and Library Bar. Seven private dining rooms are located on the 33rd floor.
The Embassy Club and The Des Moines Club were voted best private clubs in the annual readers poll of The Des Moines Business Record for 2004.

Fine dining Monday through Saturday evening in The Embassy Club and Wednesday through Saturday in The Des Moines Club.
Each location offers traditional dining specials like 2 for 1 selected entrees Monday evenings and Prime Rib carved table side from the trolley on Wednesdays in The Embassy Club and family night buffet Thursday evenings in The Des Moines Club. Dining extravaganzas like seasonal seafood buffets, holiday buffets, wine tasting, cigar nights, cooking classes and more are featured frequently. 4 for 2’s on Wednesday evenings in The Des Moines Club.
A la carte or buffet lunch in both clubs Monday through Friday, including fine dining options

Itemized Business Accounting, the club presents a detailed charge ticket of each visit. Our monthly statements help keep your business affairs easy to organize. We offer check, Visa or Master Card payment options.
Spouses have co-equal access to the clubs and all functions, whether accompanied by the member or not.
Children of members are well looked after at our annual parties at Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Also children under 10 years of age can enjoy free meals off the children's menu when casually dining with their parents.
Gift certificates available, great for staff rewards and incentives.
Wine retail program allows members to purchase any wine available in the State for 20% over wholesale cost. Members can save as much as 20% over typical retail prices and get advice from the club's wine expert.
1 hour of validated parking for members only when visiting the clubs for breakfast and lunch and free indoor parking under each building after 5:30 p.m.
Des Moines Club parking is under the Ruan Building. Enter on the south side of Grand between 6th and 7th Streets.
Embassy Club parking is under 801 Grand. Enter off the east side of 9th between High Street and Grand.
Reciprocal club membership usage through The Des Moines Embassy Club's association with over 180 clubs in the USA, including Hawaii and Alaska and 50 international clubs in world centers like London, Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Beijing. For members who travel, the reciprocal club network offers an exceptional benefit. Some clubs offer overnight accommodations, private dining and meeting rooms as well as first class dining and lounge facilities.
To visit a reciprocal club is easy, we send a letter or email introducing you to the club of your choice and dates you will be visiting, then just make your reservations direct.

Reserve up to five tee times per year at Iowa's top-rated golf course-and bring up to three guests! The guaranteed rate of $96 per person includes a cart, if desired. To schedule a tee time, just call the Glen Oaks Pro Shop at 221-9500. Town & Country play may be scheduled at the following times:
Tuesday - after 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday - before 10:00 a.m.
Thursday - before 10:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m.
Friday - before 10:00 a.m.

Bogey's Grill offers casual dining six days a week and Sunday Brunch is spectacular. Reserve Glen Oak's elegant private dining rooms for business meetings or special events. Signature Gold membership option with ClubCorp of America.
Signature Gold is an exclusive benefit that extends golf without green fees at over 100 of the greatest golf courses in the country, in addition to social, athletic and tennis privileges at Signature golf courses and associate clubs and resorts outside of a 50 mile radius from the member's home or work base.
Membership Categories
Membership in The Des Moines Embassy Club is by invitation or member sponsorship. The following membership categories have been established:
Initiation Fee: A one time initiation fee of $250 will be charged to new members.
Resident: Resident members reside or are employed or maintain a place of business within 25 miles of the club premises. Monthly dues $59-$99 based on age.
- $102 over 40 years of age
- $85 between 30 and 39
- $69 under 30
Adjacent Resident: Members reside or are employed or maintain a place of business between 26 and 50 miles of the club premises. Monthly dues $85.
Non-Resident: Members reside or are employed or maintain a place of business over 51 miles from the club premises. Monthly dues $69.
Twilight Membership: Evening lounge and dining access after 4.30 p.m. Full access to banquet and catering facilities and special member events. Monthly dues $67.
Special Legislative: Legislative members not in residence on a year around basis. Monthly dues $67.

Des Moines Embassy Club Membership also offers two special add-on programs:
Town and Country: A membership alliance between the Des Moines Embassy Clubs and Glen Oaks Country Club. Members enjoy full social privileges and benefits at all three clubs, including limited golf privileges at Glen Oaks. Town and Country membership is available to any Des Moines Club Member with an unrestricted use membership paying $65 or higher: Monthly dues $35 in addition to category dues.
- An additional initiation fee of $250 applies.
Signature Gold membership option with ClubCorp of America.
Signature Gold is an exclusive benefit that extends golf without green fees at over 100 of the greatest golf courses in the country, in addition to social, athletic and tennis privileges at Signature golf courses and associate clubs and resorts outside of a 50 mile radius from the member's home or work base. Signature Gold membership is available to any Des Moines Club member with an unrestricted use membership paying $65 or higher. An additional initiation fee of $3,000 applies and monthly dues are $45 in addition to category dues.
Corporate Membership Categories
Corporate membership is available to any business. Each corporate membership is held in one individual's name, but is owned by the company. The one-time initiation fee is $250 and monthly membership dues are $69 - $102 depending on the number of memberships:
- $102 for 1-5 members
- $85 for 6-10 members
- $75 for 11-15 members
- $69 for over 16 members
All of the categories are eligible for Town and Country privileges with Glen Oaks Country Club for the additional one time $250 initiation fee and thereafter $35 a month.
All of the above categories are also eligible for the Signature Gold membership option for the additional $3,000 one time initiation fee and thereafter $45 a month.
Corporate Advantages
The one time initiation fee of $250 to join the Des Moines Embassy Club can cover three members if joining at the same time.
After one continuous year of membership by the designated member, the company may elect to transfer the membership to a new user with a transfer fee of $25.
